Stihl Inc., creator and owner of the premier lumberjack sports event, the Stihl Timbersports Series presented by Carhartt, has announced the ESPN2 schedule for the 2008 Stihl Timbersports Series first, second and final rounds.
The 2008 season of the Stihl Timbersports Professional Series is scheduled to air on ESPN2 on the following dates and times:
First Round held at Thanksgiving Point at the Wild Outdoors Festival in Lehi, Utah Sunday, Nov. 30, 1-3 p.m. EST
Second Round held at South Commons at the Aflac Outdoor Games in Columbus, GA, Sunday, Dec. 14, 3-5:30 p.m. EST
Final Round and Collegiate Championship held at South Commons at the Aflac Outdoor Games in Columbus, GA, Saturday, Dec. 20, 10-10:30 a.m. EST
World Championship held in County Kilkenny, Ireland, Sunday, Dec. 21, 1-1:30 p.m. EST

Competition highlights include:
- A standing block tie-breaker held between two fierce competitors during the first round to determine who advanced to the second round.
- A Stihl Timbersports Series world record is shattered in the stock saw discipline.
- A Stihl Timbersports Series veteran chops and saws his way into first place in four of the six disciplines earning the Stihl Timbersports Series title.
- A boom runner wins her first ever Stihl Timbersports Series women’s boom run title.
- And the speed climb first- and second-place winners were a mere 22 hundredths of a second apart in their landings.
